Oklahoma football is set to square off with Texas football in the annual Red River Shootout at the State Fair in Week 6. Will the rivalry live up to the hype?
After an evening slate filled by Notre Dame vs Stanford and Penn State vs Ohio State, Week 6 features much less in the way of marquee games. The one, notable exception is the annual Red River Shootout featuring the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns.
Texas rallied back to relevance after falling to Maryland in their season opener. Since then, they’ve reeled off some impressive wins, downing USC and TCU on their way to a spot in the Top 25. Oklahoma hasn’t needed as much maneuvering. The Sooners have been multi-touchdown favorites in all of their games to this point and have walked away with a slew of relatively easy victories.
