Clemson football dominated Wake Forest from start to finish behind the Tigers’ three 100-plus yard rushers and their overpowering defensive front.

This is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Tigers.

I mentioned in my preview of this game that Clemson had to dominate this game after falling in the AP Top 25 in back to back weeks. The Tigers came out today and did exactly that as they held the Demon Deacons to under 100 total passing yards and held their rushing game to a 3.7-yard average on the ground.

Offensively, Trevor Lawrence went 20-for-25 with 175 yards passing with two scores and both of those scores were greater than 20 yards downfield.

Clemson also had three backs run for more than 100 yards and had five total scores on the ground. Travis Etienne continued to build his Heisman hype with his third straight 100-plus yard game and is currently one of the NCAA’s top five scoring rushers with 11 touchdowns on the ground this season. The young running back Lyn-J Dixon took 10 carries himself for 163 yards and two scores as the surprising second-leading rusher.

Clemson played Trevor Lawrence, Chase Brice, Ben Batson, and the 2016 National Championship Game winning receiver Hunter Renfrow at quarterback and three of the four led touchdown drives. The receivers made the most of their opportunities as 12 Clemson receivers caught a pass against Wake.

Now that the Tigers have improved to 6-0, let’s dive into the three takeaways from this 63-3 slaughter.
