1. Cowboys face tough road ahead

This was likely not a loss that Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State were thinking about when they looked at the schedule earlier this year.

After beating Boise State in September, the Cowboys were 3-0. They let a lead get away from them and lost to Texas Tech at home, which was very unexpected, but rebounded by besting Kansas last week.

With Kansas State and Texas left on the docket this month, and games with Baylor, Oklahoma, West Virginia and TCU in November, there could be trying times in Stillwater.

Now 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the Big 12, Oklahoma State should be favored at Kansas State next week. They will be underdogs vs. Texas, favored at Baylor, and underdogs over the final three weeks more than likely.

Six wins should be manageable, but with his decision to ban the media from discussing a player transferring, you can bet the furnace will be turned up on Gundy if Oklahoma State does go 6-6 this year and struggles down the stretch.
