Miami Football: 3 takeaways from comeback win over rival Florida State

3. N’Kosi Perry is Miami’s quarterback
There is little doubt now that Mark Richt made the right decision in turning control of the Miami offense over to freshman N’Kosi Perry.
The Florida native shined when the Hurricanes needed him the most, completing 13 passes for 204 yards with four touchdowns. While the completion percentage was tough to stomach, there is no ignoring that he had a hand in all four touchdowns on the day.
Perry replaced Malik Rosier, who nearly led Miami back to the top a season ago as a junior when he threw for over 3,100 yards and 26 touchdowns.
And while Rosier seemed himself this season, Richt and the coaching staff knew a change needed to happen.
Perry was suspended for the opener and didn’t attempt a pass vs. Toledo. He was 9 of 14 for 93 yards and three scores vs. Savannah State, threw for 224 vs. Florida International with three more touchdowns and had 125 yards on eight completions last week in a 47-10 drubbing of North Carolina.
