Oklahoma Football: Texas survives Sooners’ rally, wins Red River Rivalry

2. Kyler Murray did his best to live up to the intensity of the rivalry game
Kyler Murray wasn’t left with enough time to drive Oklahoma into position for any chance at thwarting the upset. But the quarterback remained a clear Heisman favorite after doing his best to get the Sooners back into the game in the fourth quarter.
Murray finished with 307 yards and four touchdowns on 18-of-25 passing, outplaying his counterpart in many ways. The Sooners star added 92 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, showing off his skills in all facets of the offense. He proved clutch, running for a sideline-tiptoeing 67-yard touchdown run that kept the comeback momentum going in the fourth quarter.
Murray isn’t completely absolved of blame in the loss, as he threw an interception and coughed up a costly fumble in the course of losing by three points. But he more than made up for his mistakes with a solid all-around performance that showed why he remains among the best players in the entire country.
