3. The Aggie defense bailed out their offense, again

For the second straight week, the Aggie defense bailed out their offense. Of course, this week was a much different situation than last. Against Arkansas, the Aggies became complacent and seemed to lose any kind of desire to put more effort into the game. They could have put up 60 or more on the Razorbacks, but chose not to.

In this one, they faced a strong Kentucky defense and were stopped quite a few times. It was because of their defense that they were able to get the win on Saturday night in College Station. They were able to, as a unit, put a stop to Benny Snell and Terry Wilson who were talked about all week as the unit who were going to take this defense and quite literally knock them off their high horse.

That, of course, didn’t happen. The Wildcats didn’t take a single snap in Texas A&M territory prior to overtime. That is a huge stat and one that the Aggies should be proud of. This is a talented, highly ranked team and for the first time in what feels like forever, Texas A&M was able to defend their own house and get a big time win.

Extra shoutout to Kingsley Keke, Donovan Wilson and Otaro Alaka. The senior trio made quite a few big time plays that put this one on ice for Texas A&M.
