2. The Aggies got in their own way quite a bit

Texas A&M football nearly lost this game multiple times and honestly, it wasn’t due to something great that Kentucky did. It was due to their own screw ups and issues. There were quite a few penalties, turnovers and botched snaps that ruined drives. Seth Small missed a field goal that seemed to change momentum in a hurry. A fumble scooped up for a touchdown tied the game and forced it into overtime after the Aggie offense couldn’t respond in regulation.

Yes, some of that is good plays by the Kentucky defense. I am not taking anything away from the Wildcats and the remarkable job that they have done so far this season. However, simply put, this game should have been a one sided affair in favor of the Aggies, but the maroon and white couldn’t get out of their own way.

The defense, like we discussed earlier, was once again able to bail them out enough for Trayveon Williams to score the game winner in overtime. The question is, what happens if the defense doesn’t play as well as they have been? Is the offense going to be able to respond in tough situations? Will they be able to get out of their own way?

They need to figure it out, and fast.
