Three undefeated teams fell as the AP Top 25 looks ready to go through another reshuffling. Here is what the first poll of October will look like on Sunday.

Entering the first weekend of October, 14 undefeated teams remained in college football. Fewer than a dozen remain after yet another chaotic weekend. At least three teams are poised to fall out of the ranks of the AP Top 25 this week, opening the door for new squads to jump up and take their position above the cut line.

While many figured that a week thin on marquee matchups would be light on excitement, the inverse proved true once again as college football lived up to its billing as one of the most unpredictable of sports. In total, eight Top 25 teams dropped their contests this week.

The teams at the very top avoided defeat, meaning that the top four will almost certainly remain the same as it sat coming into Week 6 action. Beyond that, though, all bets are off after three top-10 teams suffered upsets on Saturday.

What will it mean for the AP Top 25? Who will drop out, and who is going to climb back up in their place? Let’s dive in and look team by team at this week’s AP Top 25 projections after the first weekend in October.
