1. Julian Love, Defensive Back

With Notre Dame clinging to a 10-9 lead late in the second quarter, Julian Love provided the Irish with some much-needed momentum by scooping up a fumble and taking it to the house for six. They would proceed to score a convincing victory, something that the defensive touchdown helped to ignite.

The touchdown was extra important when Virginia Tech put together a scoring drive seconds before the end of the half, but thanks to Love, Notre Dame still had the lead at the break.

Love, a junior, has played in 25 games for the Irish over the past two-plus seasons, recording 130 tackles, picking off four passes, recovering three fumbles and scoring three touchdowns. His ability to create turnovers has helped makeup for some miscues by other players on the defensive side of the ball.
