Ole Miss football finishes their 2018 schedule with six straight games against the SEC, giving them a little over a month to cause as much chaos as they can.

Sitting at 4-2 with no bowl eligibility in 2018, Ole Miss is the most dangerous team in the SEC. The Rebels have an offense that can drop points on you in bunches and absolutely nothing to lose. Two conference losses to No. 1 Alabama and No. 5 LSU have pushed this team off the national radar, but that doesn’t mean the Rebels have any intention of fading in the background.

Backed by D.K. Metcalf and A.J. Brown, the Rebels offense is one that is simply too explosive to overlook. An 0-2 record in SEC play and “nothing to play for” could make Ole Miss the perfect trap game team for the remainder of the season.

Every game in the SEC is tough, so nobody would blame a coach for spending a few extra minutes in practice preparing for Alabama, LSU, Auburn or Georgia. But that extra focus has to come at the expense of something else. Ole Miss is far from a complete football team, their defense ranks 124th in the nation. But you don’t need a complete football team if you can outscore your opponent.

Jordan Ta’amu‘s squad simply has too much firepower to be kept in check for long. They won’t another defense as dominant as the two SEC squads they’ve played so far. They’ll be able to score, and that should put teams like Auburn, Texas A&M and Mississippi State on high alert when they have to take on this team down the road. Ole Miss is going to beat somebody, it’s simply a matter of time.
