ACC Football headed into their Week 6 set of games looking to decide who the contenders and pretenders are in the conference. Minimal clarity ensued.

There were a number of big games on the ACC Football slate this past weekend. Some of the results have turned the tide of the direction of the conference going forward. Unless there is some seismic shift in the AP top 10, the only way the ACC gets a team into the playoffs is if Clemson runs the table.

The Tigers look unbeatable right now and that is a scary thought for the rest of the teams in the conference. But there are a few other teams that continue to make this conference intesresting,

Let’s take a look at our updated power rankings as we get ready for Week 7.

The Demon Deacons find themselves at the bottom of our power rankings after getting dominated by Clemson 63-3. The run defense was atrocious as they gave up 471 yards on the ground. It doesn’t get any easier in Week 8 after their bye as Wake Forest has a trip to Tallahassee to face the Seminoles.

Louisville continues to slide down our power rankings due to their poor defense. We all know how hard it is to defend Georgia Tech’s triple-option offense but to give up 66 points when the opposing team attempts just two passes is mind-boggling. They face AJ Dillon (potentially) and Boston College next week and if Dylan is 100 percent He could have a 200-yard game.

The Tar Heels had their bye week after getting beat badly by Miami on Thursday night two weeks ago. They are coming in to face Virginia Tech at home and the Hokies once again look to bounce back after a tough loss to the Fighting Irish. This could be a potential upset but North Carolina will need to play an A+ game to pull it off.
