Week 6 of Big Ten football was almost as quiet as it was in Week 1. But one preseason favorite fell into a trap game, and slid down in our rankings.

It was an exciting weekend for all of college football, except in the Big Ten Conference. Five of the top six teams were in play this past Saturday, with Penn State being the only team with the week off, and four of those five teams took care of business and came away with wins. The Ohio State Buckeyes’ defense started off slow, as did the Michigan Wolverines’ offense, but both teams finished with 21+ point wins. And the Wisconsin Badgers and Iowa Hawkeyes found their wins to be a little bit more easier.

But the biggest result in Week 6 in the Big Ten was the Michigan State Spartans’ loss to the Northwestern Wildcats. Once viewed as a team that could take down the entire conference, Michigan State is still trying to find their identity at the halfway point of the season. The Spartans now have two losses on the season and have been kicked out of the AP Top 25 poll, and probably won’t make a reappearance this season.

Week 7 should provide more changes to the rankings but overall could bring us another quiet Saturday. But for now, let’s take a look at our Week 6 Big Ten Football Conference Power Rankings:
