College Football Week 7 TV schedule: How to binge-watch
Saturday 3:30-6:00
Georgia at LSU, 3:30 p.m. EST, CBS
The first of the four big games in the 3:30 slate is a huge one, as Georgia looks to remain unbeaten in one of the toughest places to play in all of college football. No matter how much I wish this game was at night, it isn’t and we just have to accept that, because life is dumb like that. Anyway, this should be an awesome game, no matter how hard CBS tries to make us fall asleep during the broadcast.
One sentence sell: It’s a top battle between SEC teams to see if the conference has any chance at putting both Alabama and Georgia in the playoff.
Michigan State at Penn State, 3:30 p.m. EST, BTN
This game admittedly lost a bit of its luster when Michigan State went out and lost to Northwestern last week, but it’s still a huge matchup that will help decide who gets to finish second in the Big Ten East behind Ohio State. Penn State probably wins this game, but Michigan State has a knack for making games that shouldn’t be close much more interesting, even if they’re not very good this year.
One sentence sell: I think this is the worst of the good 3:30 games, but it’s still worth keeping an eye on, especially if you have an interest in the Big Ten.
UCF at Memphis, 3:30 p.m. EST, ESPN2/ABC
Again, this is more interesting if Memphis didn’t get smacked by Tulane, but I’m still very intrigued by this game. UCF looks well on their way to going undefeated again, and while I don’t think Memphis is as good as they were last year, the AAC as a whole is just an awesome conference to watch. UCF, USF, Cincinnati, Memphis, Temple, Houston and Navy are all super fun, and varying degrees of good.
One sentence sell: I think this game is the third best in this spot, so maybe have it on split screen with number two (LSU-Georgia), while the best game (up next) is on the main screen with the volume on.
Washington at Oregon, 3:30 p.m. EST, ESPN2/ABC
This is the best game at 3:30. Washington is shaky at best, and while they currently seem like just about the Pac-12’s only shot at a playoff berth, I’m really not sure if they’re any good. Oregon, on the other hand, looked awesome for three quarters against Stanford, before falling apart. When they were good though, they looked like a top ten team, and I hope to see that team show up at home here.
One sentence sell: This is pretty much the de facto Pac-12 North championship game, and it’s happening in one of the loudest stadiums in America.
