LSU, coming off a disappointing loss to Florida, will be hosting Georgia football looking for a big-time bounce-back. Will it happen?

The LSU Tigers are reeling after being upset by the Florida Gators a week ago. Very few people predicted that upset and if they say they did- they are likely lying to you. Now, they start likely the most challenging stretch of their schedule and it begins with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Can the LSU Tigers find a way to knock off the defending SEC East champions? I don’t think so. Let’s talk reasons why shall we?

5. LSU’s big time, early wins don’t seem so great anymore

The Tigers skyrocketed into the top-five after knocking off Miami in Week 1 and then opening SEC play with a last second victory over defending SEC West champion Auburn. It seemed that Ed Orgeron was finally putting it together in Baton Rouge, until a trip to Gainesville knocked out those hopes.

Let’s check in with those two teams that LSU beat early in the season- wins that at that point seemed to be stamps in the passport of a contender in the SEC.

Miami sits at No. 17, which isn’t all that bad I guess. It’s great to be 5-1, but when you almost lose to the Florida State Seminoles I start to question how good you really are. The end of last season and what we have seen so far this season tells us one thing about the Hurricanes- they are only as good as their defense that day. That defense didn’t show up against LSU and as a result, the Hurricanes fell.

The other big time win was at Auburn. For the second time in two years, LSU beat Auburn in the final seconds of the game. Now, the Auburn Tigers have dropped out of the top-10 and are barely holding onto a spot in the AP Top 25, sitting at No. 21.

Simply put, neither of those wins look all that great for the Tigers right now as they head into game week against No. 2 Georgia.
