Iowa State football is riding high after an upset win at Oklahoma State in Week 6, so there’s belief the Cyclones can keep it rolling against West Virginia.

West Virginia has surprised many college football fans here in the first half of the 2018 college football season. I might be in the minority that completely expected West Virginia to be where they’re at right now. Will Grier is a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender and has the weapons to help him in David Sills V and Gary Jennings, forming perhaps the scariest passing trio in all of college football.

Iowa State has a had a start that I wouldn’t call disappointing, rather they’ve just been very unlucky. Their cancelled game against South Dakota State affected their play in Week 1 and Week 2 against a very good Iowa team and an elite Oklahoma team.

They have bounced back with wins against Akron and Oklahoma State and beat TCU in Fort Worth. While they aren’t where they thought they would be at this point, the Cyclones still have a great chance to make some noise in the Big 12.

This game is important for both sides, but I can more than see Iowa State being able to pull out a victory against the mighty Mountaineers. It will take some key things to happen, but here’s some reasons why they could.
