1. LSU is battled tested. Georgia is not.

LSU football will be ready for this matchup because they have played in several big games already this season. The Tigers have faced the nation’s 13th toughest schedule to date according to Jeff Sagarin, and it would likely be higher if it wasn’t negatively impacted by the inclusion of FCS Southeastern Louisiana, who ranks 185th in Sagarin.

LSU has played three teams ranked in the Top-20 of Bill Connelly’s S&P+ rankings, and all three of those games have come away from Tiger Stadium. LSU knocked off Miami in the season opener in Dallas, and then followed that up two weeks later with a road win at Auburn, snapping Auburn’s 13-game home winning streak and officially ending whatever voodoo hung over Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Georgia, on the other hand, has faced the nation’s 62nd toughest schedule to date according to Sagarin. They have yet to face a Top-20 opponent in S&P+, with their toughest matchup coming against Missouri, who ranks 23rd in those rankings.

Georgia earned a two-touchdown win over Missouri on the road, but that was a game that could have been much closer than the score indicated. Missouri turned it over three times, and the Bulldogs produced two non-offensive touchdowns in the win. They benefited from a controversial defensive touchdown in the first quarter, and then blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown in the second.

LSU offers easily the biggest test of the season for Georgia to date. This is LSU’s toughest test as well, but their side is battle tested and should be ready for another heavyweight bout on Saturday afternoon.
