Rose Bowl: Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Washington Huskies

The Washington Huskies have a lot on the line in their game against the Oregon Ducks as well. They too would be eliminated from playoff contention if they suffered a loss on Saturday and would have slim chances of making the conference championship game as well. This will be the first game of a four game stretch that could play a huge role in the Huskies season.

Next week, the Huskies host Colorado, followed by a road game against Cal and another home game against a deflating Stanford team. It’s a tough gauntlet to face on the West Coast, but the huskies will have to go unblemished to keep their playoff and conference hopes alive.

In their first game since their one-point loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Penn State Nittany Lions host Michigan State this Saturday. Even if their game against the Buckeyes would’ve resulted a win, their bye week couldn’t have came at a better time.

Now the Nittany Lions have had plenty of time to get over their loss, and get prepared for the rest of the season, that still provides may opportunities to get back into the playoff race. And with the wild weekend we just had, the Nittany Lions jumped from No. 11 to No. 8 in the AP poll and didn’t even play a game. Penn State’s conference and playoff chances are still very much alive.
