Oklahoma State football looks to get back on track after a tough loss to Iowa State against Kansas State in Week 7. Can the Cowboys rebound?

Oklahoma State has had a rough couple of weeks. After losing to Texas Tech 41-17 and struggling with Kansas in win 48-28 the Cowboys were defeated in week 6 48-42 by Iowa State. Next, the Cowboys have to travel to Manhattan to take on the reeling Kansas State Wildcats.

Taylor Cornelius went 19-for-33 for 289 yards and a four touchdowns in the loss to Iowa State. He will have a chance to have a similarly productive day against Kansas State who gave up 296 yards passing to Baylor.

Kansas State will be looking to build on what they did last week against Baylor. The Wildcats scored 34 points and Alex Barnes racked up 250 yards rushing.

Defensively, Kansas State will have to improve after giving up 261 yards rushing and 296 yards passing to Baylor in Week 6. Oklahoma State will be quite a challenge for a Kansas State team looking to get their season back on track.

Keys to Victory

Offensively, Oklahoma state had been doing well except for Texas Tech game. The Cowboys scored 48 against Kansas and 42 against Iowa State. What the Cowboys need to do is tighten up on defense. The Cowboy defense currently ranks 54th in defensive S&P+.

Kansas State seemed to have found something offensively with Skylar Thompson and Alex Barnes against Baylor. When the Wildcats played Texas, they limited the Longhorns to 10 offensive points. If Kansas State can play similarly on defense against Oklahoma State, it could be an interesting day.

Prediction

On paper, Oklahoma State should have no problem with Kansas State. However, things can get weird when you travel to Manhattan. Cornelius will have a good day and open the game throwing two first-half touchdowns. Justice Hill will get in on action and add a touchdown of his own. Kansas State keeps production going with Thompson.

Kansas State will not go away quietly but in the end will not have enough firepower to keep up with the Oklahoma State offense. At the end of the day, the Cowboys are too talented for the Wildcats.

Final Score: Kansas State 31, Oklahoma State 42
