3. UNC brings in Kelly Bryant

Former Clemson starting quarterback Kelly Bryant is on the market and that means a college program out there will get a winner, a leader and a solid runner behind center. Bryant is a running quarterback that struggles to throw on passing downs but guided the Tigers to a 16-2 record and an ACC Championship before being replaced by freshman Trevor Lawrence.

Bryant has graduated from Clemson in three years and will have two years to play once he settles on a new school. The former Tigers starter has thrown for over 3300 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions over his career. Over his career, Bryant averaged 7.1 yards per passing attempt and 3.8 yards per carry while scoring 16 times on the ground.

The first visit of record for Bryant’s attempt at a graduate transfer is to Chapel Hill and the UNC Tar Heels. Larry Fedora is on the hot seat at UNC between the 3-9 record in 2017 and the Heels current standing of 1-3 heading into week 7 against Virginia Tech. Like every other program in the nation, Fedora’s offense needs the right quarterback to be successful. Fedora currently has Chazz Surratt and Nathan Elliott who can’t match the abilities of Bryant.

A Bryant signing could save Fedora’s position as Heels head coach for another season or two if the UNC brass wants to keep their head coach. Bryant to UNC would immediately bolster the Tar Heels offense and pull a cellar dweller back into the mid-card of the ACC.
