Ohio State football has a winnable game against Minnesota approaching. Can the Buckeyes handle business against the Golden Gophers?

What a season it’s been for Ohio State. If there’s one team that has proved itself as the main competition for Alabama, it’s the Buckeyes. They have obliterated essentially everyone in their path with the exception of Penn State in Happy Valley.

The Buckeyes had a near letdown against Indiana in Week 6 — in the first half. They got off to a slow start against the Hoosiers and turned on the jets in the second half on their way to a 23-point victory.

Minnesota comes to town in Week 7 looking to pull off a mammoth upset, but the Buckeyes will have other ideas.

The Buckeyes will need to avoid a letdown against Minnesota on Saturday.

3. Buckeyes pick Minnesota off four times

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Zack Annexstad and the Golden Gophers’ passing attack. After getting off to a strong start to his freshman season in the first three weeks, he has since thrown five interceptions in two games and he’s completing under 50 percent of his passes.

The difference between the first three games with no picks and the last two with five? The Golden Gophers’ first-year starter is playing against stiffer competition with Big Ten play in full-swing.

Ohio State is going to eat the freshman quarterback alive, picking him off four times, pushing his total for interceptions at nine on the year. It’s going to be a rough day for Annexstad.

On top of that, he’ll fail to reach the 150-yard mark and finish with a completion rate of under 50 percent for the third time this season.
