2. This game is going to be all offense with very little defense

You see that poor Arkansas cheerleader in the picture above? No one tell her that her team plays very little, if any defense. The only good thing for her team, however, is that Ole Miss is in the same boat.

Let’s talk Razorbacks first. They average 25 points a game, which we all know off the bat isn’t enough to compete in the SEC without a killer defense. Well, Arkansas doesn’t have that. They give up 36.8 points a game on average and that is #notgood. They do hold opponents to an average of 130 rushing yards to their 147, but in reality that isn’t much of a difference in the grand scheme of things. The Razorbacks pass game averages just over 210 yards a game. Their opponents? 270. That sounds like a field day waiting to happen for Jordan Ta’amu, AJ Brown and DK Metcalf.

Now, onto the Ole Miss Rebels and their absolutely horrid defense. Besides being shut down offensively by LSU and Alabama- which was to be expected- Ta’amu and Co. have averaged well over 300 yards passing a game. In terms of rushing attack, Ole Miss allows just about 200 yards a game and they give up about the same number. Against the pass, you are looking at a 60-yard difference between what Ole Miss puts up, 211, and what they give up 271.

What do all of these numbers tell us? Neither of these teams play great defense. Ole Miss does lead the SEC in tackles, mostly because their defense is always on the field, but that won’t be enough to make this a sure win. Arkansas was able to put up 31 on Alabama, but that was in garbage time so that stat doesn’t mean much either.

Basically, this game is going to be all about offense. If you are a fan that enjoys good defense, may I suggest watching Bama shut down Drew Lock and the Missouri Tigers instead?
