Interceptions

The Penn State Nittany Lions have recorded an interception in four of their first five games of the season but have only recorded multiple interceptions in one of those games. However, the Nittany Lions will give Brian Lewerke a headache this Saturday, intercepting him not once, not twice but three times. Led by Amani Oruwariye, the Penn State secondary has been improving week-by-week, and despite the numerous screen plays, played a really good game against Ohio State.

While the offseason was filled with questions about the Penn State offense, the regular season has been filled with questions on the defensive side of the ball. While strides have been made, they still haven’t played a full game of good defense all year. But this game will provide just that for the Nittany Lions.

The pressure from the defensive line will force Lewerke to make some errant throws, giving the Nittany Lions some extra possessions. While this type of performance isn’t expected by many, Penn State has the players to give the Spartans their worst offensive game all season.
