Texas A&M football is back on the road and heading to South Carolina to take on the unpredictable Gamecocks. Can the Aggies extend their winning streak?

Since the Aggies joined the SEC in 2012, they have consistently beat up on the Gamecocks. Just like Arkansas, this is a team that Texas A&M seems to have figured out. South Carolina gets one or two big plays, normally at the start of the game, and after that, it is all about the Aggies breaking hearts. Will that be the case again this season?

Let’s talk bold predictions, starting with what I would like to call an honorable mention prediction. I have recently learned that there is actually a trophy for this game awarded to the governor of the winning state. My bold prediction? The Aggies win yet another pointless trophy that simply inflates their heads and makes them feel special enough to be okay with being a mediocre middle of the road team in the SEC.

Hopefully, Jimbo Fisher changes that mindset. He is the center of my first real bold prediction for this one.

3. This will be Jimbo’s first true road success as an Aggie.

Against Alabama, the Aggies were decently successful. They showed up and didn’t let the Tide intimidate them and that is a huge factor in playing such a powerful team. However, they didn’t win that game and as a result, it wasn’t a true success on the road.

The matchup against Arkansas is technically a neutral site, so it doesn’t have the same atmosphere that playing in front of a stadium filled with the other team’s fans and students. I will give it to South Carolina that they can be loud when their team is doing well. However, from what I have seen, they are quick to lose that excitement as the game drifts farther away from their favor.

My bold prediction? This is Jimbo Fisher’s first big road win of the season. Hopefully, this win will also carry through the normally rocky second half of the season for the Aggies.
