For a second straight week, Texas A&M made the game exciting until the bitter end. However, they were able to pull it out with a long fourth quarter drive.

Once again, Texas A&M gave every fan watching a heart attack and another dose of whatever causes Battered Aggie Syndrome. They were able to pull it out late though as they put together an over six minute drive that ended in a Trayveon Williams touchdown, just like against Kentucky in overtime.

We saw the emergence of WR Quartney Davis and yet another strong game from tight end Jace Sternberger for the Aggies. For South Carolina, their defense played remarkably well and was able to keep the Texas A&M run game off balance for the most part. We saw the good and the bad of Jake Bentley as well as of Kellen Mond.

However, Mond was able to come out victorious despite a penalty filled final minute of the game and the ejection of Donovan Wilson- again. That’ll be fun in two weeks — not. Do I agree with the call? No. Was any kind of hit necessary there? No, not at all.

That’s a different conversation for a different day though, let’s talk takeaways.

3. Aggie punter Braden Mann is the most exciting guy ever

This isn’t my Aggie bias talking I swear. The kid is good at football. Texas A&M may just be special teams U at this point and Braden Mann is the latest in a long string of good guys coming out of that unit. However, Mann may just be the best of the best in terms of Aggie special teams alum.

Don’t believe me? Watch him force this fumble, one that changed the game in a big way.

Braden Mann is averaging 54.9 yards a punt. He has tied an NCAA single season record of punts over 60 yards at 13. That will be a broken record here very soon, don’t you worry. He has been the MVP at so many points this season and as a result is the favorite to win the Ray Guy award.

Braden Mann is the man — every pun intended.
