Washington football battled with Oregon for supremacy in the Pac-12 North. What did we learn about the Huskies and Ducks in this Top 25 matchup?

After falling to Auburn in their opening game, Washington knew they’d have to be perfect the remainder of the season if they wanted a realistic shot at the College Football Playoff. Seven weeks into their 2018 campaign the Huskies have been good, but not great. Their inconsistency reared its head on the road against Oregon, serving the Huskies their second loss of the season.

When push came to shove it was Oregon that was able to do enough to walk away with the crucial victory. The Ducks were unable to put things away in regulation, sneaking into overtime courtesy of a missed field goal by the Huskies at the end of the fourth quarter. After Washington was held to a field goal in the first frame the Ducks punched in the game-winning touchdown.

It wasn’t awe-inspiring, but it was enough to push the Ducks over the hum and leave Washington playing catch up for the remainder of the season. The Huskies have games remaining against Colorado, Cal and Stanford and have run out of wiggle room in their quest for a title of any time at the end of their season.

What did we learn about both Pac-12 North squads in the hard-fought Week 7 contest?
