After a handful of surprising losses in Week 7, we have a very different look at the college football AP Top 25. Here are the biggest winners and losers.

College football is unique in the sense that, every single week, we experience an abundance of excitement and/or heartbreak. And this is what makes college football so great. Week 7 was no different with two teams earning their first loss of the season, and three others who won by a combined score of seven points. Georgia and West Virginia both lost their chance at a perfect season. UCF and USF won by a single point each. Notre Dame won by five points.

Winner: Oklahoma (No. 11 to No. 9)

The Oklahoma Sooners did not even have to play this week in order to improve two spots this week. After their last-second loss to the Texas Longhorns in the Red River Showdown, the Sooners dropped outside of the Top 10. However, as Texas continues to win, Oklahoma looks better and better. Additionally, Lincoln Riley fired defensive coordinator, Mike Stoops, after the loss. This may actually be more detrimental to the defense than positive, depending on the relationship the players had with Stoops.

Next week, Oklahoma has to travel to TCU which will give them an opportunity to get back on track. The Sooners have a long road ahead for the rest of the season. But if they win out the rest of their games, the loss to Texas may be overlooked when it comes time to select the four teams in the College Football Playoff.
