Things got weird as Ole Miss and Arkansas battled for bottom of the SEC West. The Rebels knocked off the Razorbacks in yet another close game.

When Arkansas and Ole Miss meet up, things get weird. In 2018, this didn’t change a bit. It will always be that way, even though it doesn’t seem like these two teams will be fighting for anything worth while anytime soon. I would apologize to both fan bases, but I really think that they know that I am right and won’t come for my head, or at least I hope.

Ole Miss played defense — in the second half at least — allowing only six points in the second half which was enough to pull off the comeback over the Arkansas Razorbacks. I don’t give too much credit to either of these teams as neither will make a big impact this season, however the now 5-2 Rebels showed fight when they were down and their backs were against the wall.

On the other side, Arkansas fell to 1-6 as they blew a big time lead in the second half. In the last four seasons, it has been Ole Miss that blew the lead and lost in heartbreaking fashion. This year, despite a big time injury to DK Metcalf, the offense led by Jordan Ta’amu refused to back down and as a result Ole Miss is heading home with a victory.

My biggest takeaway? Ty Storey is a one tough dude. He may not be the best quarterback in the SEC, but he is sure better than Cole Kelly and could take this team places. It would be a good plan for them to go with him for the rest of the season and for next year as well.

Other than that, it is important to note that neither of these teams have found the head coach that will take this program somewhere it hasn’t ever been before. Chad Morris and Matt Luke, they just aren’t it.

This game will always be weird and weird it was tonight. Congratulations to Ole Miss for avoiding being at the bottom of the conference — we are all so proud of you.
