The College Football Playoff picture is taking shape and so are NFL Draft boards. Here are the latest first round 2019 NFL Mock Draft projections following Week 7.

The thing we all love about college football is its complete randomness – the unexpected wins (Old Dominion vs. Virginia Tech), the colored-water shootouts (Oklahoma vs. Texas), and the best team in the country finally having a Heisman-candidate quarterback (Alabama).

Following the college football season, all that drama leads directly up to the NFL Draft. Franchises are desperate for quarterbacks, and there’s always that one team who mortgages their future by trading a bucket of picks to move up and grab “their guy,”. That signal-caller hasn’t quite emerged yet, but by season’s end, you’ll hear the rumblings.

Pass rushers might be the flavor early in this year’s draft, with a familiar name from Ohio State sitting atop the list of prospects. He might not be the first defensive lineman off the board, though, as Houston has an impressive prospect worthy of the No. 1 overall pick.

Skill-position players are always the hardest to project – your running backs, wide receivers, defensive backs, etc. The Steelers’ Antonio Brown, for example, was a 6th-round pick, while the Giants selected Odell Beckham Jr. No. 12 overall. Don’t be surprised if Alabama and LSU produce a high number of first-round picks, either; they routinely send linebackers and players from the secondary to the NFL.

The 2019 NFL Draft will take place in Nashville, TN, on April 25-27. The Green Bay Packers and Oakland Raiders each have two first-round draft picks, but any number of changes could happen between now and draft night.

“And with the first pick of the 2019 NFL Draft…”
