Week 7 of the 2018 college football season was utter chaos. Recover with me over these five takeaways from the week that was.

The top 10 is in complete flux after Week 7 of the college football season. 2018 was due to be a wild season with the departure of top level quarterbacks like Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield. Eventually something had to give in the college football stratosphere. There were also too many freshman quarterbacks in situations to take veterans’ spots and not all veterans are created equal in their handling of said replacement.

Even with four top-10 teams knocked off in Week 7, the best remains the best as the Alabama Crimson Tide convincingly beat the Missouri Tigers 39-10 even with Tua Tagovailoa re-injuring his knee. The Clemson Tigers had the week off while preparing for 5-0 NC State.

Georgia, West Virginia, and Penn State lost while Ohio State edged Minnesota and Notre Dame escaped against Pitt. The LSU Tigers have to be back in the title hunt with wins over Miami, Auburn and now Georgia — no matter how bad Miami and Auburn may really be.

Week 7 was a week of chaos while Week 8 looks like an absolute time to catch your last few rays of sun before fall is in full swing. Maybe you need to go out and do some charity, decorate for Halloween or get a pedicure? If there was ever a time for a weekend off it’s after watching Michigan dominate Wisconsin as Dylan McCaffrey and Shea Patterson both ran touchdowns against the Badgers defense.

Here are the five takeaways from Week 7’s chaos.
