College Football Playoff: Shake-up in Week 8 New Year’s Six Projections
Four teams inside the AP Top 10 lost in Week 7, causing the biggest shake-up yet in the 2018 College Football Playoff and New Year’s Six Bowl projections!
Week 7 of the college football season brought us one of the most exciting, or disappointing (depending on the team you root for) Saturdays we’ve had all season. Georgia, Penn State, Washington and West Virginia, all of which were in last week’s projections, lost on Saturday, and now only one of those teams remains inside our New Year’s Six Bowl Projections.
With three teams exiting the projections, that means we have three spots to fill. Two of those spots are filled with team’s making their first appearance in our projections, while one of those teams are a familiar face we’ve seen before.
But before we get into our updated New Year’s Six Projections, here is what’s in play this Saturday:
- The Michigan Wolverines look to pick up big back-to-back wins as they take on the Michigan State Spartans.
- The Clemson Tigers face their toughest foe yet as the host the undefeated NC State Wolfpack.
- The LSU Tigers host an upset minded Mississippi State Bulldogs team.
- The Oregon Ducks look to build on their Pac-12 North division lead as they go on the road to battle the Washington State Cougars.
We could see just as many changes next week as we are this week, but there are still games to be played so let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. For now, take a look at our Week 8 New Year’s Six Projections:
