Perhaps the most shocking drop of the week is the Georgia Bulldogs, who fall from No. 2 to No. 6. Many may disagree with that far of a fall, but when you lose to LSU who lost to Florida who lost to Kentucky things get complicated in a hurry. As a result, you fall four spots and barely hold on to your spot in the top half of the conference.

Of course, all that being said, the Bulldogs are still in control of their own destiny. Last season, they were dominated by Auburn midseason and were able to bounce back and make a trip to the National Championship. They still have that chance after their Week 8 bye, facing off against Florida, Kentucky and Auburn.

Keep an eye on Jake Fromm and the Georgia Bulldogs. They are far from done in 2018.

The LSU Tigers are possibly one of the biggest question marks of the SEC. They opened the season with a win over Miami,  a team that isn’t all that great at this point in the season. Then they knocked off Auburn, who has now fallen to the bottom quarter of the conference. After losing to Florida, their dominating win over Georgia is a pretty big deal.

Does LSU have what it takes to make a big-time statement down the stretch and maybe even sneak into the playoff? I don’t know. I haven’t exactly been convinced of Ed Orgeron since he took over head coaching duties, but he seems to continue to prove me wrong this season. The Tigers are as much in control of their own destiny as the Bulldogs are at this point as they host Mississippi State in Week 8.
