SEC Football Power Rankings 2018: Week 7 brings chaos to the ranks
By Shelbie Warr
Texas A&M has moved into the No. 2 spot by simple virtue of the fact that they beat Kentucky who beat Florida who beat LSU and on it goes. The Aggies may be up close to Alabama, but don’t let that fool you. There is a big time gap between A&M and the Tide.
However, Jimbo Fisher has taken Texas A&M and brought out the best in each and every player. He has brought a confidence level in College Station that hasn’t been seen since, well ever. The Aggies have finally found the coach that they needed and they are building something special.
It is bye week in Week 8 for the Aggies. They are preparing to face off against Mississippi State on the road in Week 9.
Alabama is the reigning king of College Football. This is a fact that isn’t going to change anytime soon. The Tide are having a season to remember amongst a large grouping of seasons to remember.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, despite an injury scare against Missouri, is the Heisman favorite by a long shot and has yet to play a fourth quarter of football. The backup quarterback is the man who brought the Tide to a championship a season ago. The defense has been strong on every front and each receiver has been reliable for whichever quarterback is throwing them the ball.
In Week 8, Alabama is facing off against Tennessee on the road, fresh off an upset of the Auburn Tigers. Will the Vols even have a chance? Probably not.
