College GameDay made history, broadcasting from the campus of Washington State for the first time. The Cougars take on Oregon in Week 8. Who did Lee Corso pick?

Mike Leach has found a home at Washington State. The well-traveled character has been the head coach of the Cougars since 2012. In that time he’s taken his team to four bowl games and a top-10 national ranking, which they achieved last season. But he’s never hosted College GameDay.

Now he has. Sitting at 5-1 with their lone blemish coming on the road by three points against USC, Washington State has climbed into the Top 25 for this first time this season. The No. 25 Cougars will host No. 12 Oregon, who are also 5-1. The Ducks blew a fourth quarter lead to Stanford earlier this season, but have otherwise looked the part of a top team. With wins over No. 24 Cal and No. 7 Washington, the Ducks hope to get their third straight win over a ranked team on Saturday.

The top four teams in the Pac-12 North all have one conference loss. It’s going to be a tight race for the division title, making this game between Washington State and Oregon incredibly important. The College GameDay crew couldn’t pass up the chance to see ‘Ol Crimson at home for the first time.

When it came time to make the picks, Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard joined guest picker Drew Bledsoe and Lee Corso on stage and made their way through their selections. They capped off the morning with their picks for Washington State’s game with Oregon. Corso, never one to miss an opportunity for the dramatic, made his selection:

There are several marquee matchups leading up to the main event on Saturday night. No. 24 Michigan State hosts No. 6 Michigan, No. 9 Oklahoma visits TCU and undefeated No. 16 NC State takes on undefeated No. 3 Clemson for control of the ACC Atlantic.
