1. Purdue is better than we thought

Let’s face it, when Purdue began the season 0-3, just about everyone wrote it off. The Boilermakers looked to take a step back in Jeff Brohm’s second season at the helm and it was disappointing given the returning pieces.

The Boilermakers then handled No. 23 Boston College and held AJ Dillon in check. It was an impressive victory, but the Boilermakers were still just 1-3 with a couple of crucial road games against Nebraska and Illinois approaching. They took care of both the Cornhuskers and Illini in comfortable fashion.

Entering Saturday’s big game with a 3-3 record, Purdue was looking to just build on that momentum and prove that the 0-3 start was just a fluke.

They did just that, beating the Buckeyes after building a 28-6 lead in the fourth quarter. The Boilermakers made Dwayne Haskins look uncomfortable and the Boilers looked like a serious Big Ten West threat.

Purdue is much better than anyone expected and we should start talking about the Boilermakers as serious conference title contenders. Forget that 0-3 start, this team is on fire. Oh yeah, and Rondale Moore is not human.
