UCLA Football: 3 takeaways from close win over Arizona

2. Joshua Kelley is the real deal in the backfield for UCLA
Over the past few years, Josh Rosen was able to paper over the fact that UCLA had no consistent running game to speak about. Rosen’s prolific passing bailed out the Bruins repeatedly, as the backfield never really managed to live up to the hype.
That is partially what Chip Kelly was brought into Pasadena to fix. And after a few struggles early in the season as his system was implemented, the running game is now full-strength for UCLA. As a result, Kelly can now celebrate a second straight win in a row thanks in large part to his new running back with a slightly-different last name.
In the #Pac12AfterDark action on Saturday night, Joshua Kelley posted his third consecutive 100-yard rushing night for the Bruins. Kelley finished with 136 rushing yards and a touchdown on 31 carries, gashing the Wildcats defense for more than four yards per carry.
Kelley has also proven capable of catching the ball out of the backfield. The running back finished with 43 receiving yards on four receptions, as the Wildcats proved incapable of stopping him much when he had the ball in his hands.
