Secondary: B

Pretty high grade for a unit that gave up 330 yards through the air. But there were some pretty good individual performances that props up the grade.

First off cornerback John Reid had a bounce back game. So far this season, he had not played well coming off a missed year due to injury. But against Indiana he returned to his pre-injury form, chipping in eight tackles and playing really well in coverage.

Safety Garrett Taylor was having a nice game too until he was ejected for a questionable targeting call in the second half. Safety Nick Scott contributed seven tackles, recovered a fumble that landed right in his stomach, and recorded an interception. Jonathan Sutherland filled in nicely after Taylor’s ejection.

The secondary gave up a lot of yards through the air, but Indiana’s longest pass of the day was 25 yards. A lot of their completions were in the short to medium range. The secondary overall played well enough to win.
