With almost every Big 12 football team on bye this week, the rankings were tough. We make due though, with an added twist to each team’s rankings.
Another week of college football has passed, as we speed towards the end of the season far faster than any of us are ready for. With the passage of another week means more knowledge gained about the Big 12, making these power rankings easier (in theory), and more reflective of the actual team talent.
At least, you’d think we’d learn a lot from week eight of a college football season. That’s prime conference season, and there’s usually plenty of games in each conference for us to digest. Not the Big 12 though! The Big 12 has to be special, and send six(!!!) of their teams on bye at the same time! I can only assume that this was done out of spite for me, to make my extremely important job of ranking the teams in a conference that will almost certainly be left out of the playoff more difficult.
Because Kansas was one of the four teams that played, and we already know where they’re going in this list, there are only three teams that actually did anything on the field, be it positive or negative, to earn any movement at all this week. There is a little bit of movement both with those teams, and as a result of their movement, but in general, this is a quiet week in the power rankings.
Because of that, I’ll switch it up a little bit, and throw in where I think each team will finish in the conference, with a paragraph or so of reasoning, to liven things up a bit.
