College Football Playoff Projections 2018: Field narrows after Week 8
Harbaugh’s Year?
The Michigan Wolverines added to their resume with a big win over a ranked, rival, and conference opponent. The Wolverines’ win came on the road against the Michigan State Spartans. Ranked at No. 24, the Spartans have been in and out of the Top 25 for much of the season. This week, however, Michigan State was coming off an upset over Penn State. But despite the momentum and the home field advantage, the Spartans were no match to Michigan. The final score read 21-7 in favor of the Wolverines.
For the past few weeks, Notre Dame was just barely hanging on to the fourth spot in the College Football Playoff predictions. But now that Ohio State has lost, Notre Dame moves up, and Michigan makes it in. Their only loss comes to Notre Dame on the first game of the year. Additionally, that game was in South Bend, and was decided by a single touchdown.
If Jim Harbaugh can get his team to a Big Ten championship, it will be hard to make an argument for them to not be in the playoff.
