2. Chris Petersen continues to build a power in the Pacific Northwest
The SEC and Big Ten powers typically claim the top spots in the national rankings when it’s all said and done. Although challenging teams like Alabama and Georgia for No. 1 is rare, there are a few programs that have proven they can bring in strong classes year in and year out.
The Washington Huskies weren’t strangers from the national stage before Chris Petersen showed up, but his impact on the program cannot be understated. Petersen has reeled in back-to-back top 25 recruiting classes and his 2019 class is ranked No. 21 in the nation following the addition of California linebacker Joshua Calvert.
Calvert is the No. 20 inside linebacker in the state of California. He picked Washington over USC, UCLA, Cal and others.
