Miami football heads to Chestnut Hill on to face the Bost College Eagles. Can they Canes avoid an upset? Here are three bold predictions for the ACC clash.

The Miami Hurricanes are coming off of a bye week and will head north to Chestnut Hill, MA on Friday night to face the Boston College Eagles. The ‘Canes are still feeling the after-effects of dropping an upset loss to the Virginia Cavaliers in Week 7. Boston College, however, is coming off of their bye week and a win over the Louisville Cardinals the week prior.

The Hurricanes are 5-2 and have yet to define their season with a signature win, unless you count a come from behind victory over a bad Florida State Seminoles team. Mark Richt‘s ‘Canes are ranked 16th per the S&P+ while Addazio’s Eagles are 5-2 and ranked 44th. On paper, Miami is the more talented team but Boston College is starting to form themselves into a program led by quarterback Anthony Brown and tailback AJ Dillon.

On the other hand, Miami is in search of an offensive identity and a starting quarterback. It looks as though Richt will go with a two-quarterback system even though many coaches will say if you have two quarterbacks it means you really don’t have any. The U lacks leadership on the field and clarity, confidence and conviction in their locker room.

With AJ Dillon healthy and Miami taking a trip north into the blustery midweek weather of Boston College, the ‘Canes are primed for another upset loss on their schedule like they felt at the hands of the Pitt Panthers, UNC Tar Heels, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and the Cavaliers over the past three seasons.
