2. Anthony Brown emerges as the star

Boston College sophomore quarterback Anthony Brown struggled in 2017 as a freshman. Brown played in 10 games last season and threw 11 touchdowns with nine interceptions while averaging only 5.3 yards per passing attempt. Brown dedicated himself to his craft this off-season and has emerged as a budding star in the ACC. The 6-foot-2, 220 pound Brown has already thrown for 14 touchdowns and four interceptions while averaging eight yards per passing attempt.

A former-three star prospect, Brown is more of a pocket passer than a dual-threat quarterback like which is how he was labeled coming out of high school. The Eagles have relied on AJ Dillon for obvious reasons, but without Dillon against Louisville the Eagles didn’t miss a beat and that was because of Brown.

The Miami defense has been plagued since Manny Diaz’s arrival by accurate passers who can pick apart the football field and protect the football. Miami preys on the turnover-happy passers who don’t make safe throws. The Boston College offensive scheme is an old school pro-style approach reminiscent of the Big Ten or even what Miami saw from LSU. That spells disaster for Diaz if Dillon can carry the ball and Brown can pick on the coverage holes the ‘Canes linebackers leave when Diaz gets anxious for a sack.

Prediction: Brown throws for 200 yards, 2 touchdowns, no interceptions.
