Clemson Football: 3 Bold Predictions for Tigers’ battle with Florida State

Clemson Football continues its march back to the College Football Playoff on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee against Florida State.

Clemson is starting to click on all cylinders with the emergence of freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who is showing progression every single week. The Tigers sit at 7-0 with nothing but unranked teams remaining on their regular season schedule, and it’s possible they won’t see another ranked team until the College Football Playoff at this point.

Clemson’s most ardent challenger the rest of the way will be themselves as they battle complacency and try not to get overcome with rat poison. The gap between Clemson and the rest of the ACC seems quite large, and it’s likely only going to get wider this weekend as they travel to Tallahassee to take on Florida State.

Clemson has won the last three meetings over Florida State, and it would take a substantial upset for them to not get their fourth straight win.

Florida State has won three of its last four games, but the competition takes a huge step forward this week, and even in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell, the Seminoles will have a tough time coming away with a win over Clemson.

These are two programs that have been headed in opposite directions over the last couple of years, and Clemson is the measuring stick that Taggart will measure his team against.
