It has been 10 years since Georgia and Florida have met while both teams were ranked in the Top 10, but it will happen again Saturday in Jacksonville. The Bulldogs are nine-point favorites.

Georgia had been cruising along to a 6-0 record until two weeks ago when they faced LSU. The Tigers never trailed on their way to a dominating 20 point win over the beleaguered Bulldogs. Now they’ve had two weeks to get over the loss and fix what went wrong. Quarterback Jake Fromm has to play much better than he did again the Tigers, where he completed less than half of his passes and threw two interceptions.

Florida has been on a tear since losing to Kentucky back in Week 2, winning five in a row. They also are coming off a bye and are completely aware of the stakes in this one. Georgia came into the season with very high expectations of playoff or bust. While Florida now has their eyes on a potential SEC East title, those heavy expectations are not on them. The Gators can play loose.

Florida’s secondary is one of the best in the country, leading the SEC in pass defense. They have the athletes to shut down Fromm and the Bulldog offense. The Gator offense isn’t setting the world ablaze, but the run game is solid and should help in extending drives.

A victory over Georgia would be huge for Florida’s SEC East aspirations. They would still need Kentucky to lose another game, but a win would certainly put the Gators within striking distance.
