Last season, Penn State escaped Iowa City with a last-second touchdown pass, will the Nittany Lions replicate this, or will Iowa football flip the script?

Coming into this weekend, Iowa and Penn State have been trending in different directions. Iowa has won their last three since their gut-wrenching loss to Wisconsin, a game in retrospect, that the Hawkeyes likely should have won. Iowa’s offense is playing at a level that have many Hawkeye fans comparing it to the dominant 2002 squad that finished in the top 10 in scoring that season in all of college football. Iowa’s defense is one of the best units in all of college football, ranking in the top 10 in total yards, rushing yards and points per game.

Penn State, however, has hit a rough patch in the month of October. The Nittany Lions lost two games in a row to Ohio State and Michigan State before squeaking by an Indiana team that had been struggling defensively. James Franklin has also come under fire for his perceived conservative play-calling, which ultimately cost the Nittany Lions in their losses to the Buckeyes and Spartans, the most notable call was Trace McSorley being stuffed on fourth-and-five against Ohio State.

Anytime these two teams play, it’s hard to predict what will happen. So these three predictions will have to come with some wiggle room.
