Ohio State and Oregon lost, providing room for Michigan and Washington State to rise in our College Football Playoff and New Year’s Six Projections.

Week 8 of the college football season provided us with some big changes to our New Year’s Six Projections. Some notable games included The Ohio State Buckeyes suffering an embarrassing loss to the Purdue Boilermakers, the Michigan Wolverines took down the Michigan State Spartans and the Clemson Tigers making a statement with a win over the NC State Wolfpack. These games provided a huge change to both conference and playoff aspirations for the teams involved and for some that weren’t involved.

This coming Saturday should provide just as much excitement and change to our New Year’s Six Projections. Here is what’s going on in Week 9:

  • The Wisconsin Badgers go on the road to face the Northwestern Wildcats for the top spot in the Big Ten West.
  • The Florida Gators take on the Georgia Bulldogs in a game that has all sorts of implications involved.
  • The Penn State Nittany Lions host the Iowa Hawkeyes in an elimination game for a New Year’s Six Bowl.
  • The Texas A&M Aggies go to battle with the Mississippi State Bulldogs as they look to keep their New Year’s Six hopes alive.
  • The Washington State Cougars look to pick up their second consecutive win over a ranked conference opponent as they take on the Stanford Cardinal.

We weren’t lying when we said Week  9 was going to be exciting but before the games are played, check out our updated New Year’s Six Projections:
