The Week 9 College Football Injury Report brings a host of injuries to star quarterbacks. Will there be any signal callers left?

The wear and tear of college football is an unfortunate consequence of a physical sport. The guys in the trenches are used to the pounding, but even the quarterbacks are starting to fall victim of the injury bug. Here are the biggest names in danger of missing time this season:

Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovailoa – Alabama

The sophomore signal-caller is a full go for the Crimson Tide again. Tagovailoa exited in the third quarter of the Crimson Tide’s win over Tennessee but head coach Nick Saban calmed Tide fans’ fears by saying the quarterback was fine and could’ve gone back in the game if Alabama wasn’t already annihilating the Volunteers.

Jalen Hurts – Alabama

Just a friendly reminder that the Crimson Tide has perhaps the best back-up in college football, Jalen Hurts. And oh yeah, you may of missed this but he had surgery this week to fix a sprained ankle.

Alabama has a bye before playing No. 4 LSU on November 4th.

Khalil Tate – Arizona

Arizona’s disappointing season is on life-support after a close loss to struggling UCLA on the road. Khalil Tate may not be able to help them, as he is questionable with an ankle injury for the Wildcats match-up with Oregon, after missing last week’s game. Sophomore Rhett Rodriguez filled in for Tate and threw for 231 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Jarrett Guarantano – Tennessee

Guarantano took a monster shot in the second quarter of the Volunteers’ 58-21 loss to Alabama and exited the game. According to GoVols247, offensive lineman Drew Richmond said “Jarrett’s fine. I mean, he’s hurt, but everybody’s got dings and bruises (this time of year). We’ve just got to protect him and get his confidence up.” If Guarantano cannot play on Saturday, senior Keller Chryst will get the start.

Brian Lewerke – Michigan State

Lewerke injured his shoulder against Penn State on October 13th and was completely ineffective in the Spartans loss to Michigan last Saturday. In fact the junior was replaced in the fourth quarter and according to NBC Sports, hasn’t returned to practice. Lewerke has thrown for 1563 yards and eight touchdowns this season for the 4-3 Spartans, who welcome Purdue this weekend.

Sam Ehlinger – Texas

Ehlinger is questionable for the Longhorns game against Oklahoma State on Saturday. According to Hookem.com, the Longhorns coaching staff will sit down on Friday and determine whether Ehlinger or backup Shane Buechele will start. Buechele started the Longhorns win over Baylor, throwing for 184 yards and a touchdown.

JT Daniels – USC

Daniels is questionable for USC ahead of its match-up with Arizona State after suffering a concussion against Utah. Daniels has completed 56 percent of his passes for 1,629 yards but has thrown nearly as many interceptions (seven) as touchdowns (eight). If Daniels is unable to play, the USC depth chart lists freshman Jack Sears as the next in line to start.
