Arkansas Football: Takeaways from SEC shootout against Vanderbilt
Once again, Arkansas football came up short against an SEC opponent that it had the chance to beat at home to stay winless in conference play.
Arkansas football resumed conference play in Week 9 with an opportunity to continue to round out this 2018 campaign with momentum. Being in a good place for the beginning of the second year under head Arkansas football coach Chad Morris is key to making some headway with a potent and building roster in the SEC West.
The recruiting trail was not very friendly to the Razorbacks during the 2018 cycle, but even that part of the program is catching up for this cycle. The 2019 class could keep building among the top 25 in the nation if the results on the field are positive down the stretch.
The test for Arkansas in Week 9 was a cross-conference opponent from the SEC East in the Vanderbilt Commodores. Both Arkansas and Vanderbilt had some unfortunate results of late in SEC play. The No. 9 Florida Gators nearly were upset by Vanderbilt in Nashville two weeks back. Arkansas and Vanderbilt both still had an ever-dwindling shot at bowl eligibility entering Week 9. Here’s a look at the takeaways from the cross conference SEC battle between the Arkansas Razorbacks and Vanderbilt Commodores.
