Clemson football dominated their ACC Atlantic rival on Saturday, downing Florida State on the road for their first two-game winning streak ever in Tallahassee.

Dabo Swinney‘s Clemson team took full advantage of Alabama’s bye this week, and the Tigers might have done enough to open in the No. 1 spot of the College Football Playoff rankings when they come out for the first time this season on October 30. Clemson went on the road and overpowered the Florida State Seminoles 59-10 in one of Saturday’s early games.

There was nothing that Willie Taggart’s squad could do to stop the Tigers onslaught at Doak Campbell Stadium. Even with home-field advantage, the Seminoles were shut out for most of the game. A third-quarter field goal and a garbage-time touchdown pass from James Blackman to Keyshawn Helton as the receiver got behind the coverage and then cut across the field to reach the endzone on a 73-yard run.

Other than that bit of luck, Florida State has little else they could do to slow down the Tigers in what turned out to be an ACC Atlantic mismatch.

What can we take away from Clemson’s dominant rout of the rival Seminoles on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee? Keep reading for three things we learned this week as the Tigers moved to 8-0 on the season.
