3. Clemson trolling the rest of the ACC at this point of the season

Dabo Swinney elected to put 6-foot-4, 315-pound defensive tackle Christian Wilkins into the game to punch in a one-yard touchdown that made the game 21-0 in the second quarter. It was effectively a message to the rest of the ACC that there is nothing the conference’s other members can do to stop the Tigers from winning a fourth straight league crown in December.

The Tigers at this point are trolling the rest of the ACC. The only other team with fewer than two losses, NC State, is still effectively two games behind Clemson after the head-to-head loss to the Tigers in Week 8.

Who else in the conference has a chance to take down Clemson at this point? The only conference foes left with a chance to take down the Tigers are Louisville, Boston College, and Duke. The trip to Massachusetts to face the Eagles could be the one trap left on their schedule before the Battle for the Palmetto State in non-conference play against South Carolina on Thanksgiving weekend.

As one of a dwindling number of teams with perfect records, Clemson is a real threat to push up into the top spot in the inaugural College Football Playoff Top 25 of the 2018 season. Nobody at this point looks like they are ready to steal away the ACC crown, at the very least.
