If you say you picked Kansas football to beat TCU, nobody would have believed you. Well, it happened. What does this win mean for the Jayhawks?

How many of you picked Kansas in this one- honestly? I know I didn’t that much is for sure. Whatever you thought would happen though, the Jayhawks now have their third win of the season and while that wouldn’t be exciting for most teams, it is a big deal for those guys down in Kansas.

The Jayhawks have three wins this season after going a combined 3-33 over the previous three seasons. This is a team who has been praying for big-time wins for years and now we are here.

What does this one mean for the Jayhawks of Kansas? Well, a lot.

Kansas finished with almost 200 yards less of offense and 10 less first downs. They also lost the time of possession battle by about a minute and a half. Despite all that, they found a way to win. How? Two turnovers was surely a big part of it for sure. It also helps that TCU just isn’t the same team they were a few seasons ago.

Before today, TCU had a five-game win streak versus Kansas including a 43-0 victory a season ago. The overall record? 22-9-4 in favor of TCU. However, this one came out in favor of the Jayhawks and man the fans couldn’t be more excited.

Kansas snapped its 14-game conference losing streak with this win over TCU. This is the first Big 12 win for the Jayhawks since they knocked off the Longhorns in 2016, a quite fun day for everyone not wearing Burnt Orange and White.  It was the longest active conference losing streak in the FBS.

Does this mean that head coach David Beaty may get another season at Kansas? For their sake, I do hope not- but you really never know honestly. While we don’t know what the future holds for this program, the College Football world is quite hyped up for the Jayhawks to knock down another Texas team that was supposed to be a strong, prominent program.
